Dairy

There are many key benefits to the dairy cow when feed an omega-3 fat source.  The herd will experience a positive immunity response where the cows will have reduced somatic cell count and incidence of mastitis. Healthy cows and a healthy herd will reduce the number of involuntary culls.  Improved longevity will benefit the producer in the long term.

Cows fed a high omega-3 diet will also show improved reproduction performance.  When the cows are bred earlier in the production cycle and can maintain the pregnancy at a higher rate, the producer will benefit by having less unproductive days with each cow.

An omega-3 enriched diet will result in increased milk yield. When the omega-3s are fed using our linPRO-R product, the cows will be able to maintain the fat levels in the milk due to our patented dry-extrusion process.  The omega-3 fatty acids are protected from the microbes in the rumen making the omega-3 fats available to the lactation cow.

Another advantage to feeding the cow linPRO-R as a source of omega-3 fats in the diet, the cow will produce a healthier milk product where the milk is enriched with omega-3. This enriched milk product will then pass the omega-3 benefits on the final consumer. This is an easy way for the healthy consumer to increase omega-3s in their everyday diet.

Layers

Laying birds are amazing omega-3 fat converters.  When laying birds are fed an omega-3 enriched diet using linPRO-24 at the recommended feeding rate, the eggs produced will provide 700% more omega-3 in a single egg compared to a conventional egg.  Just 2 eggs per day will provide consumers with most of your daily omega-3 requirement.

There are other sources of Omega-3 fats available, but a flaxseed-based product will provide consumers with piece of mind knowing that that omega-3 source is a land-based sustainable source.   The egg producer can have confidence that there will not be any sensory issues as the linPRO-24 source is very stable and will not result in a fishy smell or flavour to the eggs. That is a real issue when other omega-3 sources are fed to the laying hens.

Meat (Chicken, Pork and Beef)

The use of our linPRO product in the rations of broiler chickens, beef cattle and pork, offers advantages to both the producer and the consumer. Meat producers can provide a consistently enriched product to the consumers when linPRO products are fed at a standardized rate to provide a consistent and measurable benefit to the end consumer.  The consistency of diet gives the consumer confidence in the quality of product all year long when grass fed animals will have variation in omega-3 content due to variations of the of the diet throughout the various seasons.  Omega-3 enriched meat products provide another alternative for consumers to increase omega-6: omega-3 ratios with only minor changes to the everyday foods they consume promoting a healthy lifestyle.
